Police seeking witnesses, information following robbery

Saint John Police’s Major Crime Unit is appealing to the public for assistance after a robbery Saturday on Lake Drive.

Police report it was approximately 3 p.m. when a 36-year-old woman driving in Haymarket Square was struck by another vehicle described as a white sedan. The sedan followed the woman as she pulled into a parking lot, police report.

“One man and one woman got out of the vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle. Both were described as being in their forties,” police stated in a media release. “There was a struggle and the woman’s purse was stolen.”

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video footage or surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.
